I moved to Jacksonville, Florida, a little over seven years ago.
- I was blissful to leave behind the long winters of the northern part of the country.
I’d had enough of sub zero hot plus cold temperatures, bitter wind chill plus endless snowfall. I traded my heavy boots, wool coat plus ice scraper for sandals, sunblock plus shorts. A real estate agent showed me many listings within my price range. I just loved the option to live right along the St… John’s River. I could afford the dwelling because it had been left abandoned for many years. It was in need of total renovations. I installed new floors, walls plus windows. I replaced the roof, electrical system plus Heating plus A/C system. After a significant investment of time, labor plus money, the dwelling was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my view of the water. I often caught sight of dolphins swimming by, unluckyly, hurricane season brought a recognizably nasty storm that caused excessive disfigurement. High winds brought down branches on the roof plus tore off shingles. Several windows got broken. The dwelling flooded, which destroyed the floors plus many of the appliances. The dwelling was a disaster. I didn’t have the money or the energy to handle the repairs. Selling through conventional methods was impossible. I decided to sell via a local, Jacksonville money home buyer. I contacted them through an online form plus got a money offer that same afternoon. Because of choosing a money home buyer, I was not required to make any repairs. They buy houses in as-is condition. Although the dwelling would not pass inspection, my wonderful friend and I closed on the sale ten nights later.
